Former MLA Dalvir Singh Goldy from Dhuri constituency of Sangrur district of Punjab has left Aam Aadmi Party. He said that he is no longer a part of any party. He also hinted that he may return to the Congress. Goldy said that he will contest the 2027 assembly elections from Dhuri constituency even if Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann does not stand before him again. In the 2022 elections too, Congress had pitted Goldy against Bhagwant Mann but he had to face defeat. By-election dates for 4 Vidhan Sabha seats of Punjab have been announced. According to the Election Commission's press conference held in Delhi today, Barnala, Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal and Gidderbaha assembly seats will go to polls on November 13 and the results will be released on November 23.
