Demand for live streaming of Majithia case hearing: Application filed in Mohali court
Former Punjab minister and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia's lawyers have today filed an application in Mohali court in the disproportionate assets case registered against him, demanding that the hearing of the case be held through live streaming.
The petition states that the entire Punjab and people sitting abroad want to know the truth in this case. Majithia's lawyers say that there is no substance in the case, the government is only making big claims in the media. It is noteworthy that the Vigilance had arrested Majithia on June 25.

School roof collapse in western India kills 8 children and injures at least 27
The roof of a government middle school building collapsed Friday inIndia’swestern state of Rajasthan, killing 8 children and injuring at least 27, a senior police official said.
The collapse occurred soon after the students had reached their classrooms and were about to start the school assembly, said police official Amit Kumar.
It is still unclear what caused the roof to collapse.
The school, located in Piplod village of Jhalawar district, has students studying up to eighth grade, or what is called a middle school in India.
A total of around 35 students were present when the roof collapsed.

Indian police arrest a suspected scammer running a fake embassy near New Delhi
Indian police have arrested a man accused of running a bogus embassy from a rented residential building near the capital, New Delhi, and recovered cars with fake diplomatic plates.
The suspect impersonated an ambassador and allegedly duped people for money by promising overseas employment, said senior police officer Sushil Ghule of Uttar Pradesh state’s special task force in northern India.

Surrey: Kap's café reopens after shooting incident
Kap’s Cafe, the target of a shooting in Surrey, has reopened after being closed for about 10 days following the shooting.
Kapil Sharma shared a post about the reopening of the cafe two days ago. Today, the Connect FM team reached the cafe and spoke to the staff.

Jagdeep Dhankhar resigns as Vice President of India
Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday tendered his resignation from his post “to prioritise health care and abide by medical advice.”
Jagdeep Dhankhar was serving as the Vice President of India since 2022. He previously served as the governor of West Bengal from 2019 to 2022.
In a letter addressed to President Droupadi Murmu, he wrote that he was resigning in order “to prioritise health care and abide by medical advice.” He also thanked the President, Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers for their support and guidance.

Canada based man charged in hit and run of Fauja Singh
In Punjab, in the case of Fauja Singh, known as the world's oldest runner, being hit by a speeding car, the police have arrested 26-year-old Amritpal Singh Dhillon, who went to Punjab from Canada, in a hit and run case. Dhillon actually belongs to Kartarpur and lives in Canada with his family.

Marathon runner Fauja Singh passed away at the age of 114
Punjabi Sikh runner Fauja Singh has passed away. He was a resident of Beas village in Jalandhar. He breathed his last at the age of 114. According to reports, Fauja Singh was outside his house in the evening when he was injured after being hit by a car. He was taken to a private hospital in Jalandhar, where he breathed his last.
Known as the world's oldest marathon runner, Fauja Singh started his marathon in the year 2000, when he was 92 years old. In 2011, he made headlines around the world by participating in the Toronto Marathon and made a name for himself as the oldest marathon runner.
