Punjab SC Commission Summons Congress Leader Pratap Singh Bajwa on November 10
The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has issued a second notice to the state Congress over alleged misuse of a portrait of Bhai Jaita Ji during a recent rally in Tarn Taran ahead of the byelection. The Commission has directed Leader of the Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa to appear in person on November 10.

SAD leader Vardev Noni Mann arrested in Fazilka panchayat poll violence case
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Vardev Singh Mann, widely known as Noni Mann, has been arrested in connection with a violent clash that broke out last year during the nomination process for panchayat elections in Jalalabad, Fazilka district. Tarn Taran bypoll: Over Rs 57 crore worth of cash, liquor and narcotics seized since model code came into effect
Authorities in Tarn Taran district have seized illegal goods worth more than Rs 57.47 crore since the model code of conduct came into force for the assembly by-election. The code was implemented on October 7 ahead of the poll, which is being held to fill the vacant seat.
According to Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C, enforcement agencies have confiscated 51,429.50 litres of liquor valued at about Rs 32.89 lakh, along with narcotic substances worth nearly Rs 56.67 crore. Officials also recovered cash amounting to Rs 9.73 lakh and other items valued at Rs 37.85 lakh.

Harjinder Singh Dhami re-elected SGPC president for 5th consecutive term
Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami was re-elected as the president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for the fifth consecutive term for the 2025-26 session.
In the election held on Monday, a total of 136 votes were polled, out of which Dhami secured 117 votes, while his opponent, Mithu Singh Kahneke, received 18 votes. One vote was declared invalid.

Suspended Punjab DIG Bhullar’s judicial custody further extended by 14 days
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Chandigarh on Friday further extended the judicial custody of suspended Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar by 14 days.
Bhullar was produced before the court through video conferencing from Burail jail after his 14-days judicial custody ended today. Since the CBI has not demanded remand of Bhullar, the court sent him to further judicial custody till November 14, 2025.
The CBI had arrested middleman Krishanu Sharda and Bhullar on October 16, 2025.
