In a heartfelt blend of stardom and social responsibility, global music sensation Diljit Dosanjh has teamed up with Zomato and his own Saanjh Foundation to support flood relief efforts in Punjab during his ongoing Aura world tour. While Diljit performs on stage across Australia, his heart and his team are deeply rooted in the flood-hit villages of Punjab.
Zomato, known for its quirky marketing campaigns, has come forward not just to work with Diljit's Saanjh foundation for flood relief.
Back home, the Punjabi diaspora isn’t far behind. Communities from Canada’s Surrey (often dubbed Mini Punjab) to the US, UK, Italy, and Australia have stepped up. One standout initiative? Connect Media Network in Surrey, which raised over 7.5 lakh dollar for the cause a true testament to the global spirit of Punjabis standing with their homeland in crisis.
But while celebrity involvement often draws skepticism, Diljit is setting a different tone. His Saanjh Foundation, led by his manager Sonali Singh, has boots on the ground literally moving from village to village, ensuring rehabilitation efforts are hands-on and impactful. The foundation has officially adopted several of the worst-affected villages, pledging to see their recovery through.
Updates from the field are shared with full transparency, no glamor shots, no PR spin, just real work. Even while touring abroad, Diljit continues to echo his signature rally cry: “Punjabi aa gaye oye!” but this time, it’s not just on stage. It’s in action.
For an artist often celebrated for his music, this moment reflects something even deeper a commitment to his roots.
Punjabi artists are often criticized for not standing up for their own community during times of crisis. But Diljit Dosanjh has firmly shattered that narrative. Through consistent action, not just words, he has shown that his heart belongs to Punjab and when his people are in need, he will stand by them, no matter what.
More than just a celebrity face, Diljit is embracing the deeper social responsibility that comes with influence. While he continues his global tour, his team led by the Saanjh Foundation remains fully committed on the ground in Punjab. They’ve adopted some of the most severely affected villages and are working tirelessly on long-term rehabilitation.
For Diljit, this isn’t a momentary gesture or a photo-op. It’s a mission. His team has vowed to stay until the job is done until homes are rebuilt, lives are stabilized, and communities can stand on their own again.
This is what it looks like when an artist uses fame not just to entertain, but to uplift.
