Stand-up comedian Maheep Singh is all set to bring his razor-sharp wit and unfiltered humor to Canada for the very first time - and he’s doing it with curiosity, courage, and a punchline.

In an exclusive chat with Connect Cine, Maheep opened up about his much-awaited Canada tour, cheekily titled “Mummy Kaisi Hai?” What makes this trip special isn’t just the tour - it’s the fact that this will be his first-ever visit to the country that has become a second home for so many Punjabis.

When asked the inevitable question - “Which Punjabi doesn’t have a friend in Canada?” - Maheep bursts into laughter. “I don’t have any relatives there,” he quips, adding with comic timing, “Maybe a friend or two.” But behind the humor lies genuine intrigue. He says he’s travelling to Canada for one simple, fascinating reason: he wants to see for himself what magic the country holds that has emptied so many villages of Punjab, drawing people thousands of miles away to start anew.

Known for his bold, observational comedy and effortless crowd work, Maheep also reflected on his unconventional journey. Unlike many performers who start young, he stepped into stand-up in his late 40s - a brave leap of faith that meant walking away from a stable job. “I think this was my calling,” he shared thoughtfully. “This is what I was meant to follow.”

Maheep spoke passionately about creative freedom - the exhilarating yet exhausting reality of being a performer. He admitted that every creative individual, just like Zakhir Khan, experiences moments of burnout. The constant pressure to produce fresh, relatable, and impactful content can be overwhelming. Yet for Maheep, the stage remains sacred - a space where authenticity triumphs and laughter heals.

Now, with his Canada tour “Mummy Kaisi Hai?” in collaboration with ANB as the immigration partner, Maheep Singh is ready to test his punchlines across borders.
