The judicial custody of senior Congress leader and former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu from Punjab's Ludhiana has been extended for 14 days. He was arrested by the ED on August 1 in the Jalandhar office after questioning in the case of a multi-crore transport scam in the Food and Supplies Department. The next hearing of this matter will now be held on September 5. This matter was first taken up by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau. Vigilance has also presented a challan in the court in this case.
