Punjab and Haryana High Court gave relief to singer Daler Mehndi and granted him bail on Thursday in a 2003 human trafficking case. Singer Daler's lawyer Sumanjit Kaur confirmed Mehndi's bail. Earlier in July, the Patiala district court sentenced Singer Daler Mehndi to two years of imprisonment in a 2003 human trafficking case. Following the court's order, the singer was taken into custody by Punjab Police. The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the Union Jal Shakti Ministry to call a meeting between the governments of Punjab and Haryana to resolve the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal dispute. A bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Abhay S Oka and Vikram Nath asked the central government to hold a meeting between both the States and granted four months to file a report on the meeting.
