Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim has again got 50 days parole. This is his ninth parole in four years. The parole of Ram Rahim, convicted in the rape and murder of a journalist case, is being linked to the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections in Haryana this year. In 2017, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the rape of two women followers and in 2019, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his employee Ranjit Singh. He was also sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of murder of a journalist in 2021 but despite this he is getting parole.
