On Thursday, June 5, 2025, Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers arrested a male 15-year-old suspect after a 14-year-old male victim was stabbed. Just after 3:00 pm yesterday, SPS officers were called to the area of 132 Street and 70B Avenue for a reported stabbing. A victim was quickly located in the area with a significant stab wound. He was assisted by SPS, Surrey Fire and BC Ambulance personnel prior to being transported to hospital where he continues to receive treatment and is listed as being in stable condition. Canada's unemployment rate has hit its highest level in nearly nine years, with 1.6 million people unemployed in the country. Statistics Canada said in a report released today that the unemployment rate in May was 7 per cent, the third consecutive monthly increase in unemployment.
