Popular Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane enjoys a cult fan following in India for her role as Sararswati, aka Saru, in the 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam. She was featured opposite Harshvardhan Rane, and even though this film was a box office failure back then, it turned the tables and garnered exceptional recognition over time.
Recently, in an exclusive interview with Connect Cine, Mawra Hocane talked about the success of Sanam Teri Kasam’s re-release and also shared her feelings. The actress described how shattered she felt when the film did not work, and she even believed that the actor in her had died.
In conversation with our host Faridoon Shahryar, Mawra said, “My family, siblings and friends really saw me going through that heartbreak and helped me come out of it. I had so many beautiful work opportunities here in Pakistan, but I was feeling like the actor in me had died. I tried to convince my producers that I cannot act anymore, but I’m so grateful that they convinced me back into it and I was able to deliver Sammi and Aangan. I really didn’t want to do it because I thought with Saru, I died, and the actor in me died as well.”
Moreover, the actress also expressed gratitude and happiness for the film’s super success on its re-release. She also talked about the possibility of reuniting for Sanam Teri Kasam 2.
