Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi appeared before the National Commission for Women in connection with complaints alleging obscenity in the song “Sarke Chunari” from the film “KD The Devil.” During the proceedings, Fatehi submitted a written apology to the commission.
According to statements made before the commission, Fatehi said it was never her intention to hurt anyone’s sentiments through the song or its presentation. She also stated that she would avoid performing in future item songs that could be perceived as disrespectful toward women or send inappropriate social messages.
The National Commission for Women had reportedly sought clarification following complaints related to the lyrics and visuals of the song. The matter was taken up as part of the commission’s review of concerns raised about the portrayal of women in entertainment content.
Fatehi also told the commission that she would support the education of orphaned girls, although additional details regarding the initiative were not publicly released.
