Boeing 737 skidded off runway in Senegal airport, injuring 10 people
A Boeing 737 plane carrying 85 people skidded off the runway at the airport in Dakar, Senegal's capital, injuring 10 people, a statement from the country’s transport minister said in a statement on Thursday.
El Malick Ndiaye, the transport minister, said the Air Sénégal flight operated by TransAir was headed to Bamako late on Wednesday carrying 79 passengers, two pilots and four cabin crew.
The injured were being treated in hospital, while the other survivors have been taken to a hotel to rest.

London Drugs president says sorry for cyber breach, no evidence customer data taken
The president of London Drugs has issued a letter apologizing for a cybersecurity incident that forced the company to close stores for more than a week, but he says there's no evidence customer databases were compromised.
The letter from Clint Mahlman says the Richmond, B.C.-based company is still investigating the April 28 incident, and should it find that any customer information was affected, it would inform people according to privacy laws.

Congress candidate from Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency of Punjab Sukhpal Singh Khaira has accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of not making any development in his own Dhuri Vidhan Sabha constituency in the last two years.

B.C. insurance corp. announces $110 vehicle rebate, rate increases on hold until 2026
Most drivers in British Columbia will receive a $110 vehicle insurance rebate this year.
The Insurance Corporation of B.C. says strong investment and financial returns and the 2021 shift to the "enhanced care" model for providing health coverage for people involved in crashes has put the Crown corporation in a solid position to offer rebates.
Corporation president David Wong says vehicle insurance rates will also remain frozen until at least March 2026.
He says the last basic insurance rate increase was 2019.

The Supreme Court will pronounce its verdict on May 10 on the interim bail application of Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, who is lodged in Tihar Jail in the Delhi liquor scam case. NDP leader slams Liberals for giving nearly $26M to Costco, Loblaw in recent years
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is slamming the federal Liberals for giving nearly $26 million to Costco and Loblaw for energy-efficient appliances.
In 2019, the Liberals faced heat from Conservatives after the government announced it was giving $12 million to Loblaw for energy-efficient refrigerators and freezers.
Newly released data from Environment and Climate Change Canada shows Costco was also given more than $15 million for fridges and to reduce emissions.
Loblaw was given more than $10 million.
The payments were made to the two grocery chains between 2019 and 2023.

A court date has been set for the third man charged with the murder of British Columbia Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, coinciding with that of the other two suspects.
Case listings from Surrey Provincial Court in B.C. show that Kamalpreet Singh will appear next on May 21.
