Congress candidate from Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency of Punjab Sukhpal Singh Khaira has accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of not making any development in his own Dhuri Vidhan Sabha constituency in the last two years.

He said that despite having four ministers from Sangrur including the Chief Minister, Dhuri's only sugar mill is also closed. Along with this, Khaira said that former Congress MLA Dalveer Singh Goldi has committed "political suicide" by joining AAP.

It is to be noted that Bhagwant Mann himself has been a Member of Parliament twice from Sangrur and the Aam Aadmi Party considers it as its stronghold but despite this he lost the by-election to Simranjit Singh Mann. There are 9 Vidhan Sabha constituencies in this Lok Sabha. These include Sangrur, Dirba, Sunam, Lehragaga, Dhuri, Barnala, Bhador, Mahalakalan and Malerkotla.
