Three Men Involved in Punjab Grenade Attacks Killed in UP Encounter
In connection with the bomb blast outside the police post in Bakshiwal, Gurdaspur district, the Punjab Police, in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh Police, killed three militants in an encounter in Pilibhit early on Monday.
The slain individuals were identified as Gurvinder Singh, Varinder Singh, and Jashanpreet Singh, all from Gurdaspur. They were residents of villages in the Dera Baba Nanak constituency, and their ages ranged from 18 to 25.

Bharat Bhushan Ashu Granted Bail by Punjab-Haryana High Court
Former Punjab minister and Congress leader Bharat Bhushan Ashu has been granted bail by the Punjab-Haryana High Court. The court also quashed two FIRs registered against him by the Vigilance Bureau.
On August 1, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Bharat Bhushan Ashu in Jalandhar after questioning him in connection with a money laundering case related to a tender scam. He has been in custody since then.
During his tenure as Minister of Food Supplies, large-scale irregularities were reported in labor and transportation tenders in Punjab's mandis.

Om Prakash Chautala passes away
Om Prakash Chautala, a close associate of the late Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and a former Chief Minister of Haryana, has passed away at the age of 89, just 10 days shy of his 90th birthday.

Narayan Singh Chaura presented in court, sent to jail for 14 days
Narayan Singh Chaura, who tried to shoot former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, was presented in the Amritsar court today after his remand expired, from where he has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Farmers at Shambhu border to march towards Delhi for third time tomorrow
