FIRs Filed Against 8 Travel Agents in Punjab Over Deportation Case
An FIR has been registered against 8 travel agents in Punjab in connection with the deportation of individuals from the United States. Two of the FIRs have been filed with the district police, while six have been registered with the NRI Affairs Wing of the Punjab Police.
Meanwhile, a Special Investigation Team (SIT), established by the Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab, is conducting its own investigation into the matter. It is noteworthy that recently, 104 Indians were deported from the U.S., with around 30 of them being from Punjab.

SGPC Removes Giani Harpreet Singh as Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has removed Giani Harpreet Singh from his position as the Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib. Giani Jagtar Singh has been appointed as the acting Jathedar in his place.
This decision follows the findings of a three-member committee formed to investigate allegations against Giani Harpreet Singh.
The allegations, reportedly stemming from an old case involving a relative, had previously led the SGPC to suspend his services while the investigation was underway.
