Delhi reports 520 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours
The national capital reported 520 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, with a case positivity rate of 2.09 per cent, informed the Delhi Health Department on Thursday.
With this, the active cases in the city stand at 2,377.
According to the health bulletin, 817 COVID patients recovered during this period taking the total number of recoveries since the onset of the pandemic to 18,73,604.
One patient succumbed to the virus. The death toll in the city increased to 26199. As many as 24,918 COVID tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra: SSKM calls for statewide protest against inflation, unemployment
Maharashtra farmers union, Samyukta Shetkari Kamgar Morcha (SSKM) called for a statewide protest from May 25 to 31 against rising inflation, unemployment and other people's burning issues.

SC orders one-year jail term to Navjot Singh Sidhu in 3 decade-old road rage case
In a major setback, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has been sentenced to one year of imprisonment by the Supreme Court in a road rage case that is three-decade-old.
The Supreme Court on Thursday allowed the review application on the issue of sentence against Sidhu, saying,"We have allowed review application on the issue of sentence. In addition to the fine imposed, we impose a sentence of imprisonment of one year to be undergone by respondent Sidhu." Petrol, diesel consumption jumps despite price rise
Despite a sharp jump in prices, the consumption of petrol and diesel has increased in the recent months, government sources said.
Talking to ANI, a government source said petrol consumption increased by 14 per cent in April when compared with the previous month, while diesel consumption grew by 2 per cent during this period.
On high prices of petroleum products, the sources said that petrol and diesel prices would come down as soon as the global situation comes under control.

Delhi logs 393 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths
The national capital on Tuesday witnessed a slight rise in the COVID-19 cases, as Delhi reported 393 new infections in the last 24 hours. Yesterday, Delhi had logged 377 COVID positive cases.
With this, the total active COVID cases in the national capital stood at 2,910, while the daily case positivity rate has dipped to 3.35 per cent, from 3.37 per cent yesterday.
