SGPC President rejects resignation of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Jathedar, urges him to continue duties
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has rejected the resignation of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh and appealed to him to continue his religious services as before.
Dhami said that the Jathedar’s leadership and spiritual guidance were invaluable to the Sikh community and that the SGPC hoped he would reconsider his decision in the larger interest of the Panth.

The daughter of Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal, Harkirat Kaur Badal, is set to tie the knot in February next year, according to information shared by former Akali leader Virsa Singh Valtoha.
Valtoha, who recently parted ways with the Akali Dal, told the media that wedding preparations are already underway for the much-anticipated family event. Sources close to the Badal family confirmed that Harkirat Kaur’s marriage has been fixed with an international businessman who originally hails from Punjab’s Doaba region.

Canada Border Services recovers nearly 2,000 stolen vehicles in 2025, surpassing last year’s total
Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has recovered 1,945 stolen vehicles from ports and railyards across the country so far this year - already exceeding the total number recovered in all of 2023, according to Transport Minister Anita Anand.
Anand said the majority of recovered vehicles were found in Quebec, with Ontario also accounting for a large share of thefts. Many stolen vehicles are being routed through the Port of Montreal, from where they are shipped overseas as part of organized international smuggling operations.
