Ravneet Singh Bittu, the former Member of Parliament from Ludhiana, Punjab and the current Union Minister of State, has been opposing the release of Sikhs in jails till date, but now he has taken a U-turn on it.
Talking to reporters, Bittu said that now is the time to move forward. They will not oppose the release of any jailed Sikh including Rajoana. He said that he is ready to make any sacrifice to maintain peace in Punjab.
It is to be noted that Bittu strongly opposed the release of Balwant Singh Rajoana and other captive Sikhs while in the Congress.
Bittu was defeated in the recently held Lok Sabha elections from Ludhiana but despite the defeat, he has been made a minister in the third term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
