Approval of 'One Nation One Election', resolution passed in the Modi Cabinet

The Narendra Modi government of India has given the green signal to the proposal to hold the assembly elections along with the Lok Sabha elections in the country as 'One Nation One Election'. This bill will be presented in the Parliament in the winter session November-December. It is to be noted that the committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind, formed to consider 'One Nation One Election' submitted its report to President Draupadi Murmu on March 14. In the report, it has been recommended to extend the tenure of all the Vidhan Sabhas till the next Lok Sabha elections 2029.
