Dodge Pickup Crashes Outside Abbotsford A&W, Driver Hospitalized
A Dodge pickup truck crashed outside an A&W restaurant in Abbotsford on Wednesday morning after veering off the road along Sumas Way between Marshall Road and South Fraser Way.
According to Abbotsford Police, the truck left the roadway, struck a light pole and then came to rest on the retaining wall beneath the restaurant's drive-thru sign. The impact also knocked down a nearby hotel sign.
Police shared details of the incident at around 8:30 a.m. Officers cordoned off the restaurant entrance with police tape while emergency crews responded to the scene.

Project Nokargo leads to seizure of 392 stolen vehicles worth $28 million
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have uncovered an attempt to illegally export 392 stolen vehicles as part of Project Nokargo. Authorities say the recovered vehicles have an estimated value of $28 million.

Late-night shooting reported at Surrey park; no injuries, police seek witnesses
A late-night shooting at a park in Surrey's Whalley neighbourhood is under investigation, although no injuries or property damage have been reported.
According to the Surrey Police Service (SPS), the incident occurred at approximately 12:10 a.m. at Robertson Drive Park near 127 Street and 92 Avenue.
A witness told police that a large crowd gathered at the park quickly dispersed after gunshots were heard.

Armed suspect injured in RCMP officer-involved shooting in Cold Lake, Alberta
A man was injured after an RCMP officer opened fire during a domestic violence call in Cold Lake, northern Alberta, on Tuesday morning. The suspect was taken to hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
According to RCMP, officers responded to a report of a domestic violence incident involving a weapon in the 5600 block of 54 Street at approximately 9:45 a.m.

Toronto sees three apartment fires in one day; two killed, four injured
Three separate apartment fires were reported across Toronto on Tuesday, leaving two people dead and four others, including two children, injured.
According to officials, the first fire broke out at around 3:15 a.m. on the eighth floor of a 19-storey apartment building near Ontario Street and St. James Avenue. Toronto Fire Services' preliminary investigation suggests the blaze was caused by a lithium-ion battery from an e-bike. Four members of the same family, including children aged 12 and 14, suffered burn injuries and were rushed to hospital by Toronto Paramedic Services.
