Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has been lodged in jail, has been taken to a Rajindra Hospital in Patiala for a medical check-up on Monday morning. He was lodged in Patiala central jail on May 20 after Supreme Court imposed one-year rigorous imprisonment on him in the 1988 road rage case. Sidhu was acquitted in connection with the culpable homicide charges but was convicted of the offence of voluntarily causing hurt. Delhi Govt raises minimum wages of labourers

The Kejriwal Government raised the dearness allowance (DA) for labourers, on Friday. With the latest revision in the dearness allowance, the monthly wages for unskilled labourers have been raised from Rs 16,064 to Rs 16,506 per month. Similarly, the wages for semi-skilled labourers have been increased from Rs 17,693 to Rs 18,187 per month. Delhi reports 520 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours

The national capital reported 520 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, with a case positivity rate of 2.09 per cent, informed the Delhi Health Department on Thursday. Two drivers killed in head-on crash in Kootenay National Park

Two drivers were killed in a head-on collision on Highway 93 in Kootenay National Park on Wednesday evening, according to the RCMP. Police said officers responded at about 5:30 p.m. to reports of a serious crash near the Simpson Monument. Investigators determined that a westbound vehicle crossed the centre line while negotiating a curve and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. According to the RCMP, each vehicle was occupied only by its driver. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
