On September 20, 2022 at 9:25 a.m., the Surrey RCMP responded to a report of an unconscious man in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle, in the 8800-block of 127 Street, in Surrey. First responders arrived on scene and found the man inside the vehicle, having suffered injuries consistent with a shooting. Despite life-saving efforts, the man died on scene. BC has recorded another case of avian flu, it's third in less than a week, after no cases had been reported since June. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the September 18th outbreak involves a small flock in Spallumcheen, while another small flock in the Cariboo was infected on the 15th and the highly transmissible illness was identified among a commercial flock in Chilliwack on the 12th.
