Popular rapper Muhammad Bilal Shaikh, widely known as Emiway Bantai, has reportedly received a chilling death threat along with a ₹1 crore extortion demand. The threat, sent from a number registered to his label, Bantai Records, was allegedly from Goldy Brar a Canada-based associate of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The message also named Rohit Godara, another overseas aide of Bishnoi, according to police sources.
The threatening message, received on May 25, gave the rapper a 24-hour deadline to pay the ransom or face fatal consequences. “I am gangster Goldy Brar. Your singer has 24 hours. I want ₹1 crore or I will kill him,” the message read. An employee of Bantai Records spotted the text and filed a police complaint at NRI Coastal police station on Shaikh’s behalf.
Strikingly, the threat arrived just a day before Emiway released a tribute track on May 26 honoring late Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala —who was shot dead in 2022. Bishnoi, believed to be the mastermind behind Moose Wala’s murder, is currently in prison, while Brar had publicly taken responsibility for the crime.
Police are investigating the origins of the threat and any potential connection to the tribute release.
