Gurpanth Maan, the younger brother of legendary Punjabi singer and actor Gurdas Maan, passed away at the age of 68. He had been undergoing treatment at a multi-specialty hospital in Mohali for the past two months. Gurpanth is survived by his wife and two children, who currently reside abroad.

The second of three siblings, Gurpanth Maan was the brother of Gurdas Maan and their sister. While his brother rose to national fame through his music and acting career, Gurpanth chose a quieter life, dedicating himself to farming and working as a commission agent in Gidderbaha, Punjab. He remained away from the public eye throughout his life.

Gurdas Maan, known for revolutionizing Punjabi music, gained widespread recognition with his breakthrough song ‘Dil Da Mamla Hai’ in 1980. Over the decades, he cemented his place in Punjabi entertainment, earning a National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer for ‘Waris Shah: Ishq Da Waris’. He also appeared as a judge on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Punjabi in 2020.
