This humble beginning, Prabh explained, was instrumental in shaping his vocal abilities.

Popular Punjabi singer Prabh Gill recently opened up about his early connection with international music sensation Diljit Dosanjh during an appearance on Connect Cine. In a candid conversation, Prabh revealed a side of his journey that many fans may not be aware of: the unique bond that helped shape his career.

Prabh, who was visiting the Connect Cine office in Surrey, British Columbia, shared that Diljit Dosanjh, now a globally recognized artist, used to visit his family’s house regularly to meet his father. It was during these visits that Prabh’s father first mentioned his son’s growing interest in music. According to Prabh, it was Diljit who suggested that he start singing as a chorus vocalist for him.

“I was just starting out, and Diljit Bhaji told me that I should try singing in the chorus for him,” Prabh recalled. “I was excited and agreed right away. For every show, I’d earn around ₹300, which I’d give to my mother.”

This humble beginning, Prabh explained, was instrumental in shaping his vocal abilities. The experience of singing alongside Diljit not only honed his skills but also taught him valuable lessons about dedication and hard work in the music industry. “Being part of Diljit’s team was a massive learning opportunity. He made me a better singer and, more importantly, a better person.”

Prabh also shared a lighthearted anecdote from that time. “People started thinking I was Diljit’s driver because I would drive him everywhere. But honestly, that just added to my experience and my connection with him.”

The bond between Prabh and Diljit during those early years was more than just professional—it was a mentorship that shaped Prabh's path in music. Today, as a successful singer in his own right, Prabh credits much of his growth to the time spent with Diljit, who played an integral role in guiding him through the initial steps of his career.

With a smile, Prabh reflects on how far he’s come. “Those days were challenging, but they taught me so much. It’s been a journey of both music and personal growth, and I’ll always be thankful for the early lessons I learned from Diljit Bhaji.”

Looking back at those formative years, Prabh Gill is undoubtedly grateful for the mentorship that set him on his path to stardom, with Diljit Dosanjh playing a key role in his early success.
