Biden lands in Saudi Arabia to meet king, crown prince
President Joe Biden touched down in Saudi Arabia on Friday.
It is Biden's first visit to Saudi Arabia since taking office, and his first meeting with the kingdom's crown prince and presumed heir to the throne, Mohammed bin Salman.
Biden has refused to speak with Mohammed bin Salman until now. Biden has declined to say whether he would raise the 2018 killing of Jamal Khashoggi, a U.S.-based journalist and critic of the kingdom.

Ivana Trump, first wife of former president, has died
Ivana Trump, the first wife of Donald Trump, has died in New York City, the former president announced on social media Thursday. She was 73.
The former president posted on his social media app that she died at her Manhattan home.
“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City,” Trump posted on Truth Social.The couple shared three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric.

Hostage injured, suspect arrested at office providing legal advice in Lethbridge
Police charges are pending after an employee at an office that provides free legal advice in southern Alberta was taken hostage and injured.
Police responded to a report Thursday afternoon about an armed woman inside Lethbridge Legal Guidance.
Ninety minutes later members of the Critical Incident Team entered the building and a 40-year-old subject was taken into custody.
The victim, who is 54, was taken hostage inside the building and sustained life-threatening injuries.
She remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.

Millions of Australians could catch COVID-19 over coming weeks: health minister
Australia's Health Minister Mark Butler has warned that "millions" of people could get infected with coronavirus in the coming weeks amid a winter surge.
Butler recently asked the Australians to wear masks and work from home when needed to mitigate the impact of a wave of BA.4 and BA.5 Omicron subvariant infections.
There were 316,574 active COVID-19 cases in Australia by Wednesday -- a figure Butler said could increase within weeks.

Singer Daler Mehndi gets 2 years jail in human trafficking case
Patiala district court on Thursday sentenced Singer Daler Mehndi to two years of imprisonment in a 2003 human trafficking case.
Following the court's order, the singer was taken into custody by Punjab Police.
According to Advocate Gurmeet Singh, Mehndi's application for release on probation was also dismissed by the court.

Two men dead after small plane crashes in central Alberta
Mounties say two people died after a small plane crashed in central Alberta.
RCMP say officers from the Didsbury detachment and emergency crews were called to the crash site Wednesday in Mountain View County.
RCMP say a pilot and a passenger were inside the downed aircraft.
They say a 69-year-old man and a 65-year-old man were killed.
Mounties say the Transportation Safety Board has taken over the investigation. Didsbury is roughly 80 kilometres north of Calgary.

MP to procure black moong at MSP, registrations to start on July 18
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday said that the government will procure black moong at Minimum Support Price (MSP).
In a conversation with ANI, he also said that the process of registrations will start on July 18.
"Farmers in Madhya Pradesh have produced black moong in the summers but their prices in the market are very low. Since we are a government of the farmers, we have decided to purchase the Moong at the MSP of Rs 7,275 per quintal," CM Chouhan said.
