Kulbir Singh Zira, former MLA of Zira Vidhan Sabha Constituency of Ferozepur District of Punjab and President of District Congress Committee, has been arrested by the police from his house early today.

Zira has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days after undergoing medical treatment.

Zira while talking to reporters said that he has been arrested for raising the voice of the people.

Zira said that in the past, he had staged a peaceful dharna at the BDPO office Zira along with his supporters to give their rights to the sarpanches.

Kulbir Singh Zira said that if he has to go to jail even ten times while raising his voice for people's rights, he will be ready to go.

Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has termed the arrest of former MLA Kulbir Singh Zira as heinous politics.

He has said that the AAP government wants to suppress their voice by force but they will not remain silent.
