Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal received a big blow on Monday in the Delhi liquor scam case. The High Court dismissed their petition challenging the arrest. The court said that his arrest was not illegal.
Let us tell you that Kejriwal has been arrested by ED and CBI in the Delhi liquor scam case. He had challenged the arrests of both the agencies. Along with this, the AAP supremo also filed a bail petition, which was rejected.

The Shiromani Akali Dal has formed a new core committee of 23 members under the leadership of Sukhbir Singh Badal. It includes many leaders including SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami and Bikram Singh Majithia.
Sukhbir Singh Badal had dissolved the old core committee on July 23 after the rebellion emerged in the party. Now the new core committee under the leadership of Sukhbir Badal has decided to hold a three-day delegate meeting at Sri Anandpur Sahib in the first week of November.

Trudeau meets officials, evacuees following Jasper wildfire
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in Hinton, Alta., to get a briefing on the status of the Jasper wildfire.
Trudeau is expected to tour the mobile incident command centre Monday, and meet with Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, Jasper Mayor Richard Ireland and Jasper evacuees.
He is not expected to tour the town of Jasper itself.
More than 20,000 people were evacuated from the town and Jasper National Park nearly two weeks ago as a wildfire inched closer to the area, destroying one-third of the town's buildings.

Backcountry campers not deterred by Jasper fire
Some backcountry campers rescued from the wildfire in Jasper National Park say they're not deterred from going out again.
A massive wildfire last week forced 25-thousand people to flee the Alberta park and its townsite.
Fire later destroyed a third of the town.
Parks Canada says 245 campers were evacuated from the backcountry.
Among them were Charles Vantanajal and his family, who says he and his family were hiking when they saw smoke near Oldhorn Mountain, but didn't think that they were in any danger because the fire appeared to be far away.

Vancouver's July home sales slid 5% from last year, listings up 20%
Greater Vancouver Realtors says last month's home sales in the region dropped five per cent from a year ago, even as the number of new listings jumped 20 per cent.
The real estate body says sales in the market totalled 2,333 last month, while new listings reached 5,597.
The composite benchmark price for all residential properties in Metro Vancouver was about $1.2 million. That's both a 0.8 per cent decrease from last July 2023 and from June 2024.

Eight people charged after drug-trafficking investigation in B.C.'s Lower Mainland
Police in British Columbia's Lower Mainland say a yearslong drug-trafficking investigation has led to charges against eight people, as well as the seizure of illicit drugs, drug-making supplies, and two guns with prohibited magazines.
A statement from B.C.'s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit says the investigation began in Langley in December 2022 and expanded as investigators determined the suspects were connected to "gang and organized crime activity."

Four-year-old boy drowns in residential pool southwest of Montreal
A four-year-old boy drowned Thursday night in a residential pool southwest of Montreal.
Emergency services were alerted at around 8:30 p.m. about a child in cardiac arrest who had been found in a pool in Beauharnois, Que.
Local police say the child was declared dead at a nearby hospital.
Police say they are still trying to determine how the boy ended up in the pool.
On Facebook, officials with the town of Beauharnois said they were at a loss for words to describe their sadness.
They said the town offers its sincere thoughts to the boy, his family and neighbours.

In the Paris Olympics, the Indian men's hockey team created history today by defeating Australia 3-2 in the group match. India got this victory over Australia in the hockey competition after 52 years in the history of Olympics.

Former cabinet minister of Punjab Bharat Bhushan Ashu has been remanded by the court for 5 days.Yesterday, the ED summoned him to Jalandhar in the multi-crore transport tender scam in the Food and Civil Supplies Department, where he was arrested after questioning.
According to sources, Ashu could not answer several questions from the ED. ED officials have come to know about some of their transactions abroad as well. At the same time, the ED may question some of Ashu's relatives in the coming days.
