An 18 year old Quebec student who was visiting BC as part of a school group has been critically injured in a bus crash near Castlegar. RCMP say the teen and 15 other Quebec students were aboard a transit bus near Castlegar last Thursday when the bus was side-swiped by a delivery van, severely injuring the teen who was sitting beside the window where the van hit. More rain and thundershowers are forecast today across southern and southeastern BC and that is keeping flood concerns high across those regions. Alberta expands its support for Ukrainians fleeing war and settling in the province

The Alberta government is expanding its support for Ukrainians coming to the province from the war-ravaged country. Premier Jason Kenney says there's a special, deep connection between Alberta and Ukraine. He says starting July 25, Ukrainian evacuees arriving in the province would be eligible for temporary financial assistance for basic living expenses _ such as food, clothing and rent _ for up to six months.
