Lok Sabha Elections: 55.20 percent voting in Punjab till 5 pm
Punjab recorded a voter turnout of 55.20 per cent as of 5 pm.
There are 13 lok sabha seats in punjab.
INDIA bloc allies — the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) — are contesting separately while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) are contesting the Lok Sabha polls on their own for the first time since 1996.

BJP will surely cross 400 mark: Amit Shah
The Bharatiya Janata Party led NDA is poised to cross the 400 seats mark as set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claimed Union home minister Amit Shah.
Shah said people were turning out in great numbers to vote for the BJP as they want to see Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India for the third term.
BJP's senior leader Shah made this claim during the Lok Sabha elections.
The Lok Sabha Election Result 2024 will be announced on 4 June 2024 by the Election Commission of India.

Arvind Kejriwal will have to surrender tomorrow, no immediate relief from the Supreme Court
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal did not get immediate relief from the Supreme Court. A court in Delhi has reserved the decision on the interim bail petition filed by Kejriwal on medical grounds.
The decision on Kejriwal's interim bail will not come today and due to this he will now have to surrender in Tihar Jail tomorrow. The decision on interim bail will now come on June 5.

EVM Snags disrupt polling in pockets in Ludhiana
The largely peaceful polling was disturbed with technical snags of Electronic voting machines in Ludhiana's booth number 111.
People had to wait because EVM did not work for atleast two hours. According to the information at 9 a.m. machine's battery was dead and polling process was halted. Voters told they were waiting for thier turn from long time. EVM malfunctions led to delays and frustrations.

13 people including seven home guards died due to heat, duty was on during elections
Terrible heat continues in Uttar Pradesh. On Friday, a total of 13 persons, including seven home guards posted at other places, died due to extreme heat in the Divisional Hospital of Mirzapur.
About 40 home guards, PAC and police personnel have been recruited in the hospital. The condition of five of them is said to be critical.

EVM at 5 booths in Himachal Pradesh. Machines broken, voters forced to return home
Voting for the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections is going on in Himachal Pradesh. Voters in 5 booths in Sundernagar Assembly Constituency of Mandi District had to suffer when the EVM. damaged

AAP and Congress workers clashed in Hoshiarpur's town Haryana, 4 injured
A clash broke out on saturday between workers belonging to the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress in town Haryana of Hoshiarpur. Four members of both parties are injured in the incident.
Congress candidate Yamini Gomar accused Aam Aadmi Party workers for attack. It is to be noted that earlier in Adampur too, a person was injured during a similar dispute.
It is being told that the Congress polling agent was brutally beaten by the Aam Aadmi Party workers. He has got an injury on his head and admitted to the civil hospital in Adampur.
