Farmers Begin 'Delhi Chalo March' from Shambhu Border
Farmers began the 'Delhi Chalo March' from the Shambhu border of Punjab-Haryana today at around 1 pm. However, after Haryana Police fired tear gas shells, 14 farmers were injured, including a prominent farmer leader.
Following the incident, the protesting farmers decided to postpone their foot march for the day. Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher stated that due to the injuries sustained by some farmers, the group would return for today. He confirmed that a new group of farmers will leave for Delhi on December 8.

Canada has unveiled an Arctic foreign policy that commits to increasing domestic and international collaboration to combat emerging foreign threats in the North.

Statistics Canada to release November labour force survey today
Statistics Canada is set to release its November jobs report this morning.
According to LSEG Data & Analytics, economists polled by Reuters expect the unemployment rate ticked up to 6.6 per cent last month.
The jobless rate was 6.5 per cent in October.
Job creation has lagged population growth considerably this year as high interest rates weigh on the economy.
Today's labour report will be the last major economic release ahead of the Bank of Canada's interest rate announcement on Dec. 11.

Earthquake strikes off California; tsunami warning issued
A strong earthquake was felt widely across Northern California on Thursday and authorities have issued a tsunami warning.
The quake struck at 10:44 a.m. west of Ferndale, a small city in coastal Humboldt County near the Oregon border, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
It was felt as far south as San Francisco, where residents felt a rolling motion for several seconds. It was followed by smaller aftershocks.

Narayan Singh Chaura sent to 3-Day Police Remand
An Amritsar court has sent Narayan Singh Chaura, accused of attempting to shoot former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, to three-day police remand. The police had sought a seven-day remand but were granted only three days.
Reports suggest that Chaura had been visiting the Darbar Sahib for the past three days. Notably, Sukhbir Singh Badal was serving as a sevadar outside the Darshani Deodhi under religious punishment imposed by Sri Akal Takht Sahib at the time of the incident.
