SC dismisses plea seeking direction on farmers' issues regarding forcible land acquisition
The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition filed by Bharat Bhoomi Bachao Sangharsh Samiti (BBBSS), seeking directions to the authorities concerned to ensure equal opportunity of dialogue and of being heard in connection with farmers' issues relating to forcible land acquisition.A three-judge bench of the Apex Court, headed by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sharad Arvind Bobde, and comprising justices A S Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian, refused to entertain the petition."We are dismissing the petition, we are not casting any aspersions on you," the Bench said.The petitioner, BBBSS, ha

Farmers' agitation will end if govt gives legal recognition on MSP: Governor Satya Pal Malik
Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik pitched for the settlement between farmers and Central government over 3 farm laws issue and said that if government agrees on giving legal recognition on MSP then the agitation will end. "To help the Prime Minister in some way, so that the farmers' issue gets over, for this both sides have to show nobility. If they (Central Government) agree on MSP and give legal recognition then the agitation will end," said Governor Malik.

Delhi reports 425 fresh COVID-19 cases, one death in last 24 hours
Delhi reported 425 new COVID-19 cases and one related death in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 6,44,489 in the national capital, informed the Delhi health department on Tuesday.According to the health bulletin, as many as 257 people recovered in the national capital from the disease in the said period. With this, the total number of recoveries in Delhi goes to 6,31,056 so far. Train services resumed in Punjab's Amritsar after farmer unions on March 11 suspended their 169-day long 'dharna' on tracks ahead of the wheat harvest season. Delhi Police directed not to take action against Shubham Kar Chaudhary till March 15
A Delhi Court on Friday directed the Delhi Police not to take any coercive action against climate activist Shubham Kar Chaudhari till March 15.
Additional Sessions Judge Dharmender Rana of Patiala House Court adjourned the hearing on Chaudhari's anticipatory bail plea till March 15.
