The Honourable Janet Austin, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, has met with Premier John Horgan, and has accepted his advice that David Eby become the next premier of British Columbia. Fire destroys several vehicles including police cars at Smithers hotel
An early morning fire in a hotel parking lot in Smithers caused significant damage to multiple vehicles including several police vehicles. Just before 4:30 am on October 26, 2022, Smithers RCMP received a request to assist the Smithers Fire Department at the Sunshine Inn located in the 3800 block of 4 Avenue in Smithers, for a report of multiple vehicles on fire in the parking lot. Frontline officers attended and were able to assist in getting the fire under control. The federal government has appointed three new judges to the British Columbia Supreme Court and raised another to the B.C. Court of Appeal. New information links homicide of Dhindsa brothers to multiple Lower Mainland shootings
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified new information that is believed to be linked to the homicides of brothers Chaten and Joban Dhindsa with a series of Lower Mainland shootings. Background: On March 19, 2021, Richmond RCMP officers responded to the 22000-block of Rathburn Drive to assist with a structure fire. Nurses being punched, grabbed, kicked to benefit from anti-violence program: union
The B.C. government has announced a program to help reduce violence against health-care workers at 26 hospitals and mental health facilities across the province. Police search for missing Jasvinder Virring of Langley
Langley RCMP is seeking the assistance of the public to locate Jasvinder Virring.
Jassvinder is a 62 year old man from the Willoughby area of Langley. He is described as South Asian, 5/7" tall, 230 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.
He has a 6" white beard, wears a black turban and is wearing a green long sleeve shirt and black pants.
He is new to and unfamiliar with the area and left his home on foot just after 7:00 this morning.
Central Fraser Valley Search & Rescue has been deployed to assist with the search.
