Vancouver Police say officers seized more than $79,000 worth of illegal drugs, cash and weapons following a targeted drug trafficking investigation in the city's Downtown Eastside.
According to a Vancouver Police Department release, the operation, known as Project Bingo, began in December 2025 after investigators observed suspected drug trafficking activity at a single-room occupancy (SRO) building near East Hastings Street and Princess Avenue.
Police said investigators spent approximately six months gathering evidence before executing a search warrant at the building last month. Officers reported seizing fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, illicit pills and illegal cigarettes with a combined estimated street value of $65,922.
Investigators also recovered nearly $10,000 in cash, a handgun, a bulletproof vest and several other weapons, according to police.
A 61-year-old Vancouver man was arrested and questioned in connection with the investigation. Police said he has since been released pending further investigation. No charges had been announced as of publication time.
