As Punjab grapples with the aftermath of devastating floods, the call for help has prompted Punjabi celebrities to take action. Among them, international star Diljit Dosanjh has emerged as a beacon of support, consistently standing up for Punjabis during crises, whether during the Kisan Andolan or this current disaster. Leading the charge alongside his Sanjh Foundation and manager Sonali Singh, his team is on the ground, actively participating in relief efforts.

Known for embodying Punjabiyat, Diljit has always showcased his pride in Punjabi culture, from donning the royal Punjabi look at the Met Gala to openly addressing the issues facing Punjab. His compassionate gestures have resonated deeply with Punjabis across Canada, America, and Australia, who view him as a source of inspiration and goodwill.

In response to the floods, Diljit has adopted ten of the worst-hit villages in Gurdaspur and Amritsar, collaborating with NGOs and local authorities to facilitate relief. His team shared on Instagram that their focus is on providing essentials like food, water, and medical aid, while also planning for rehabilitation and long-term reconstruction. “Together, we can rebuild,” the post read, reinforcing a message of hope.

Other celebrities have joined the cause as well. Sonam Bajwa expressed her commitment on Instagram, stating, “In these difficult times, my heart goes out to Punjab and everyone affected by the floods. The images and stories coming from there are truly heartbreaking, but what keeps me hopeful is the spirit of unity and resilience that Punjab has always shown. I am doing my part to help by donating to organizations actively working on the ground as rescue teams, and I humbly urge you to do yours too. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference in someone’s life right now. Let’s come together and stand by Punjab in this crucial time.”

Celebrities like Sanjay Dutt and Ammy Virk have also stepped up, extending their support during this challenging period. As the Punjabi community rallies together, the collective effort to aid those in need exemplifies the power of unity and compassion amidst adversity.
