Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor recently shared some exciting news that has left fans and cinephiles alike buzzing with anticipation. To mark the centenary of his legendary grandfather, the iconic filmmaker Raj Kapoor, a special film festival will be held across India this December, showcasing restored versions of Raj Kapoor's classic movies. Ranbir made this announcement during a heartfelt conversation with filmmaker Rahul Rawail at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, as part of the celebrations leading up to Raj Kapoor’s 100th birth anniversary on December 14.

Speaking with passion and pride, Ranbir revealed that the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), the National Film Archives of India (NFAI), and the Film Heritage Foundation (FHF), along with his uncle Kunal Kapoor, have been working tirelessly to restore 10 of Raj Kapoor’s most cherished films.

"We are going to organize the Raj Kapoor Film Festival from December 13 to 15, and it will be held across the country," Ranbir told the enthusiastic crowd at the Kala Academy in Panaji. "We will screen the restored versions of 10 of his films during the festival," he added, visibly excited to bring his grandfather’s legacy to a new generation of viewers.

In a touching moment, he revealed that the first Raj Kapoor song he introduced to his two-year-old daughter, Raha, was the timeless classic “Kisi Ki Muskurahaton Pe Ho Nisaar” from the 1959 film Anari.
