Renowned folk singer Gurmeet Bawa passed away at a private hospital on Sunday following a prolonged illness, sending her fans and the music industry into mourning.The 77-year old singer was popularly known as ‘mallika of hek’ and was among the few surviving legendary folk artistes. She had performed in 35 countries. Her longest ‘hek’ was recorded during a performance at Georgia. People fondly remember her for her renditions with folk instruments like chimta, tumbi and dholki. Punjabi singer Karan Aujla has finally unveiled the surprise he has planned for November 25, 2022. The singer is all set to launch his own clothing brand, Hukam Clothing. A designated website, Hukam Store has been set up wherein users can register their email addresses and start shopping. The users will be able to shop and buy their favourite wears when the brand is officially launched on 25 November.

Punjabi singer-actor Gippy Grewal took to his social media to announce his prestigious project, Sheran Di Kaum Punjabi. The film, which releases in 2023 is directed, written and produced by Gippy Grewal. Lucknow Court issues arrest warrant against Sapna Chaudhary
The Lucknow court on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against dancer and actress Sapna Choudhary. Sapna is charged for canceling the concert and not repaying the money to the audience.
The case was filed in Ashiana Police Station on October 14, 2018 for her apparent failure to turn up for a dance show at Smriti Upvan in Lucknow on October 13 that year from 3 pm to 10 pm.

Roshan Prince to direct & star upcoming Punjabi film
Punjabi singer and actor Roshan Prince will soon be hitting the big screens with the upcoming film titled ‘Vadhayiyaan Bapu Tenu’. Roshan took to his social media handle to share the details about the film, which he will also be directing.
This will be the first Punjabi feature film to be shot in Winnipeg, Canada and Punjab. Moreover, along with Roshan Prince, the film stars Gurpreet Ghuggi, Oshin Brar, Yograj Singh, Karamjit Anmol, Avy Randhawa, Harby Sangha and Malkret Rauni.

Recently, a video of Punjabi singer Dilpreet Dhillon making unwanted remarks on the ‘Mirasi’ community at a live show is going viral on social media. Punjabi music director-singer B Praak has been honoured by the Dubai Film and TV Commission with the UAE Golden Visa. This makes B Praak one of the first Punjabi singers to receive the Golden Visa.Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela was the most recent recipient of the Golden Visa.
