US Vice President JD Vance is currently on an official visit to India, marking his first trip to the country since taking office. He arrived in New Delhi on Monday, accompanied by his wife Usha and their three children. Upon arrival, Vance was accorded a ceremonial guard of honor at the airport.
Following the welcome, Vance and his family visited the Akshardham Temple in Delhi, where they spent about an hour exploring the site.
On the first day of his visit, Vice President Vance also held a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On Tuesday, Vance traveled to Jaipur, Rajasthan, where he reiterated the United States’ commitment to deepening ties with India. In a public statement, he emphasized the shared goal of advancing India-US relations and announced that a new trade agreement between the two countries had been finalized.
Notably, both nations have set an ambitious target to increase bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030.
