Stalled government procurement of paddy in Punjab will start from tomorrow. After the last round meeting with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today, the Aartis have called off the strike.
The Aartis had warned of locking the markets from Tuesday if their demands were not met.
Meanwhile, senior leaders of the United Farmers' Front had also arrived for the meeting. They said that they will not go back until the purchase of paddy starts, in such an environment the Deputy Commissioners immediately went to the markets and started the purchase. Sheller owners had already called off their strike.
