According to reports, the Parliamentary Committee has recommended granting a 54-day leave to Amritpal Singh.
The threat to Amritpal Singh's Lok Sabha membership, representing Khadoor Sahib in Punjab, may be averted. According to reports, the Parliamentary Committee has recommended granting a 54-day leave to Amritpal Singh.
Amritpal had recently filed a petition in the High Court, expressing concern that his continuous absence for 60 days could lead to the cancellation of his Lok Sabha membership, which would impact the people of his constituency. In light of this, he sought permission from the court to attend the ongoing parliamentary proceedings.
It is understood that Amritpal Singh had requested leave of absence on November 30 and December 16. The Centre will now present the Parliamentary Committee's report before the Punjab-Haryana High Court, where Amritpal Singh's petition regarding parliamentary attendance will be heard.
