The Shiromani Akali Dal has announced Virsa Singh Valtoha as its candidate from the Khadur Sahib Lok Sabha seat in Punjab. Khadur Sahib is considered to be the panthic seat.

He had won the election from Valtoha assembly constituency in 2007 and Khemkaran in 2012. According to the information, Virsa Singh Valtoha had met the parents of the jailed successor Punjab chief Amritpal Singh and appealed to Amritpal to support the Shiromani Akali Dal instead of contesting as an independent candidate, but the family rejected this appeal.
