In Punjab, the byelections will be held for the seats of Barnala, Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal, and Gidderbaha. These seats were vacated earlier this year after the respective MLAs were elected to Parliament.

The date for the bypoll in four Assembly seats in Punjab has been rescheduled. On Monday, the Election Commission announced changes to the earlier scheduled byelections for 15 Assembly seats across Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Kerala. The polls, which were originally set for November 13, will now be conducted on November 20, while the results will be declared on November 23, as initially planned.

The date adjustment comes following demands from major political parties in these states, including the BJP, Congress, RLD, and BSP.
