These votes for panchi-sarpanchi will be cast through ballot paper
Panchayat elections have been announced in Punjab. Voting will be held on October 15; the results will also be out on the same day.
This announcement was made by the state's Election Commission Commissioner Raj Kamal Chaudhary on Wednesday. There are total 13937 panchayats in the state. Hoshiarpur district has the highest number of 1,405 panchayats, followed by Patiala with 1,022 panchayats.
These votes for panchi-sarpanchi will be cast through ballot paper. State Election Commissioner Raj Kamal Chaudhary informed that 19,110 polling booths will be constructed for voting. There are 1 crore 33 lakh 97 thousand 9032 voters in the state, who can exercise their right to vote.
