Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that he will soon step down as Canada’s Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Party. Trudeau expressed that he is leaving his position with the same hope and faith that guided him when he began his political journey.
In his farewell speech to the Liberals, Trudeau emphasized the values of freedom, democracy, and Canada, highlighting that these were achieved through courage, sacrifice, hope, and hard work.
Trudeau began his political career by winning the Papineau riding in Montreal in 2008. He became the leader of the Liberal Party in April 2013 and led the party to a historic victory with an absolute majority on October 19, 2015. Before entering politics, Trudeau worked as a teacher, instructing in French, mathematics, and other subjects in Vancouver.
After increasing internal pressure within the Liberal Party, Trudeau announced on January 6 this year that he would leave politics once a new party leader is elected. Following this announcement, the Liberal Party has initiated a leadership race.
