Drivers may face delays on Highway 99 Wednesday night as work continues on the Steveston Interchange project in Richmond. Traffic on Highway 99 will be affected in both directions and will be diverted to the left lane - and off-ramp - before Stevenston Highway starting at 11 p.m.
This will continue until 5 a.m. Thursday to allow crews to move a crane onto Highway 99. Project managers say the new five-lane Steveston Interchange project is a key part of a plan to improve travel along the Highway 99 corridor.
It is also part of a larger project in the province, where the Steveston Interchange will connect to a new 8-lane tunnel being built under the Fraser River in place of the George Massey Tunnel.
