Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand says she is summoning the Israeli ambassador to explain why Israel Defense Forces fired warning shots near a diplomatic tour in the West Bank today.
Anand confirms that four Canadians were taking part in the tour in the West Bank city of Jenin and that no one was harmed.
The IDF says it ``regrets the inconvenience'' caused by the incident and is reviewing what happened.
Video of the incident circulating online shows members of the multinational tour speaking to cameras near a large yellow gate before hearing gunshots and retreating around a corner.
The IDF says that the delegation ``deviated from the approved route and entered an area where they were not authorized to
be.''
The foreign ministers of France and Italy have also summoned their respective Israeli ambassadors to meetings to talk about this incident.

Abbotsford hotel death under investigation by IHIT

Abbotsford police have turned over an investigation into a death at a local hotel to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team. Police say officers were called to a report of suspicious circumstances at a hotel along Marshall Road near Clearbrook Road.
