A court in Punjab has granted a 6-day police remand for two individuals accused in the grenade attack on BJP leader and former minister Manoranjan Kalia's house in Jalandhar. The police had requested a 10-day remand for the two accused, Ravinder Kumar, a resident of Subhana Road, Garha, Jalandhar, and Satish alias Kaka, a resident of Bhargav Camp, Jalandhar. However, the court approved a 6-day remand for both.
The grenade attack has raised concerns among opposition parties about the law and order situation in Punjab, particularly following multiple grenade incidents in the state. Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia condemned the attack, stating that the assault on Manoranjan Kalia's residence was an attack on the communal harmony of Punjab.
