The Congress party in Punjab is going to announce the names of the candidates for the remaining Lok Sabha seats soon. Sources say that the list of candidates for the remaining seven seats is going to be released this week.

It has been learned that many leaders of Punjab Congress have also demanded tickets for their relatives. Birindermeet Singh Pahra from Gurdaspur is seeking the ticket for his brother, while from Hoshiarpur former MP Santosh Chaudhary's daughter Namita Chaudhary has submitted her claim for the ticket.

Pawan Adhya is also claiming this seat. It may be noted that recently the Congress had released the first list of candidates for 6 of the 13 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Teen arrested after unprovoked machete attack

A 15-year-old boy in Winnipeg is accused of attacking a 68-year-old man with a machete. Police say the assault on Friday night was random and happened while the man was walking past a Salvation Army on Henry Avenue. He was taken to hospital and police say he will require surgery. They say witnesses detained the boy until police arrived, and that officers recovered two machetes during the arrest.

U-S President Donald Trump says he is immediately ending all trade talks with Canada. Punjab Vigilance today arrested former Akali Minister Bikram Majithia after raiding his Amritsar residence, in a case of disproportionate assets. Vigilance has seized 29 mobile phones, 4 laptops, 2 iPads, 8 diaries and other documents from Majithia’s house. This new case comes at a time when a drug-related case registered against Majithia under the NDPS Act in 2021 is already under investigation.
