Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced that Aam Aadmi Party will contest in the Haryana Assembly elections on its own. During the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana, the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress contested the election together under the India Alliance.
Congress fielded candidates on 9 seats, while AAP fielded its candidate on one seat, Kurukshetra, which lost to BJP's Naveen Jindal.
On breaking away from the India alliance in the Haryana Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party leader of Delhi Sanjay Singh and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the conditions are different in every election and the elections are fought accordingly. He has given the slogan of contesting the election in the name of Kejriwal.
