Leader of Opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha Pratap Singh Bajwa said on Thursday that the Aam Aadmi Party government has made Punjab heavily indebted in just two and a half years of its rule.

He said that the Bhagwant Mann government is not leaving any institution to take loans. According to Bajwa, the state government is now taking loans for the repair of rural roads through the Mandi Board. This loan is being taken at 8.3 percent interest.

The senior Congress leader said that this huge debt will eventually be recovered from the people of Punjab through taxes and the Aam Aadmi Party has already increased motor vehicle tax, VAT and collector rates on petrol-diesel.
