Deportation of Indians from America is not the first time: S. Jaishankar

The External Affairs Minister said that the process adopted by the US while sending back illegal Indians living there has been going on since 2012 under the standard operating procedure.

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said in the Rajya Sabha today about the US bringing back Indian immigrants in shackles that this is not the first time that Indians have been deported from America. This has been happening since 2009. Jaishankar said that we have never been in favor of illegal movement, this can pose a threat to the security of any country.

The External Affairs Minister said that the process adopted by the US while sending back illegal Indians living there has been going on since 2012 under the standard operating procedure.

Jaishankar, however, said that the Indian government is constantly talking to the US government so that there is no mistreatment of the Indians being deported.
