Delhi witnesses steady decline in COVID cases
Witnessing a steady decline in the new COVID cases, the national capital reported 268 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, according to the health bulletin by the Delhi government on Monday.
The city had reported 365 cases on Sunday while 479 and 530 cases were reported on Saturday and Friday respectively last week.
With this, the active cases in the city reduced from 1,912 on Sunday to 1,819 today.
As many as 9,976 COVID samples were tested in the last 24 hours with a case positivity rate of 2.69 per cent.

Navjot Singh Sidhu taken to hospital for medical check-up
Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has been lodged in jail, has been taken to a Rajindra Hospital in Patiala for a medical check-up on Monday morning.
He was lodged in Patiala central jail on May 20 after Supreme Court imposed one-year rigorous imprisonment on him in the 1988 road rage case.
Sidhu was acquitted in connection with the culpable homicide charges but was convicted of the offence of voluntarily causing hurt. Alberta Premier Jason Kenney says he won't run in upcoming party leadership race
EDMONTON - Alberta Premier Jason Kenney says he will not berunning in the race to pick a new leader of his United Conservative party.
Kenney told his call-in radio show that if he was considering running, he would not be staying on as UCP leader until the new leader is chosen.
It was the first time Kenney took questions surrounding his surprise decision this week to step down despite winning a party leadership review.
Kenney captured just 51 per cent of the vote in the mail-in ballot of party members but said that's not enough of a mandate to remain in the top job.

43 CP train cars derail near southern Alberta town
Mounties in Alberta say traffic is being rerouted and cleanup is underway after 43 train cars carrying potash derailed Sunday morning.
RCMP say no one was injured after the westbound Canadian Pacific Railway train left its track at around 8 a.m. near the southern Alberta town of Fort Macleod.
RCMP said the incident happened about 8:15 a.m. along Highway 3, between Range Road 251 and Range Road 252, about 170 kilometres south of Calgary. No injuries were reported.

No suspect cases or contacts of monkeypox under investigation in B.C. at this time
BC health officials say an investigation has determined there are no known cases of monkeypox in the province. Canada's chief public health officer said earlier today that a couple dozen people were under investigation for the viral disease, including a few contacts in BC. Man faces multiple charges stemming from alleged groping
Surrey RCMP is advising the public that charges have been laid after a man allegedly inappropriately touched a child in a store on Sunday evening. On May 15, 2022, at 8:30 p.m., Surrey RCMP received a report that a man had groped a 3-year-old child in a store located in the 12400-block of 88 Avenue. The child’s father along with other bystanders kept the suspect on scene until police arrived.Upon arrival, police spoke with witnesses, reviewed CCTV from the store and arrested the suspect. Missing Richmond person found deceased
Richmond RCMP is saddened to report that missing 64 year old Nedunchellian Vasse Pushparaj has been found deceased. The man was found dead on May 19, 2022 in the 6800 block of Miller Rd. Gasoline prices in Canada decline slightly
Gasoline prices in Canada have declined slightly just before the start of the May long weekend. Fuel price tracking service GasBuddy-dot-com says the average retail price at the pump across Canada this morning was $1.99 per litre. It's the first time the Canadian average gas price has dropped back below two-dollars-per-litre since first hitting that milestone on Tuesday.
