Kangana Ranaut’s highly anticipated movie Emergency has finally cleared the censorship. The political drama is set to hit the silver screens on 17 January 2025. The storyline is based on the controversial emergency period in India in the 1970s.
Kangana Ranaut shared the film’s poster on her social media handles to announce the new release date of her upcoming project. In the caption, she wrote, "17th January 2025 – The epic saga of the nation’s most powerful woman and the moment that altered India’s destiny. #Emergency – Unveils Only in cinemas on 17.01.2025!"
While Kangana will be seen portraying the role of India’s then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the film will also star Anupam Kher as politician and activist Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mahima Chaudhary as Pupal Jayakar, Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and more actors.
Apart from acting, Kangana has also led the project as its writer and director.
